Love on a Spoon
Being an artist who has dabbled in every kind of medium you can think of (oils, acrylics, mixed media, pencils, charcoal, watercolor, clay, crochet and on and on), I was instantly in love when I stumbled across a booth on the final weekend of SXSW at a little craft fair in Austin, Texas on Commerce Street. And being the tea lover that I am and in search of accessories to pair with the lovely cups I find…….well, these just had to come home with me (smile). I bought three hand stamped vintage spoons. The process of art is called “metal stamping”. One of my spoons is stamped “You’re BREW-tiful”, the other is stamped “its always TEA time” and the last is “Have your TEA & think of me”.
I met the maker, Chelsea who owns Sweet Thyme Design (I know….I love the name too!). Chelsea stamps each letter by hand, resulting in a truly one of a kind piece. Everything in her shop is up-cycled, re-cycled, re-used and eco-friendly. Yup, I wanna be like Chelsea!! Be like Chelsea everybody (smile). What a great inspiration to come across on a beautiful sunny Sunday afternoon. Feel free to visit her website and tell her I sent you. Thanks Chelsea!!
